Defending wheelchair doubles champions Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid opened their Wimbledon title defence with a 6–3, 6–2 victory over Japan’s Takuya Miki and American Casey Ratzlaff on No. 2 Court, advancing to the semi-finals. The British pairing, who have collected 22 major trophies together and six previous crowns at the All England Club, remain on course for a third consecutive championship. Both also stay alive in their respective singles draws, which resume on Thursday. In the gentlemen’s doubles, fellow Britons Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool reached their first Grand Slam semi-final by upsetting defending champions Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten 6–4, 4–6, 7–6 (8). Cash and Glasspool will face Spain’s Marcel Granollers and Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos, who edged past Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in two tie-break sets, for a place in the final.
