Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s “Andor” secured 14 nominations for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, writing, directing and multiple craft categories, making it the third-most-nominated Star Wars title after the first two seasons of “The Mandalorian.” Despite the haul, the Television Academy overlooked most of the show’s principal performers. Forest Whitaker was recognised in the guest-acting category and Alan Tudyk in character voice-over, but lead actor Diego Luna and co-stars such as Genevieve O’Reilly and Stellan Skarsgård were absent from the acting slates. Showrunner Tony Gilroy welcomed the overall recognition yet described the omissions as disappointing, calling the cast’s work “epic long-term character studies.” He said he is confident the performances “will be celebrated and discussed for years to come,” while noting the complexity of the Emmy selection process.
