Netflix’s four-part British crime drama “Adolescence” received 13 nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, including a slot in the coveted Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category. The series, directed by Philip Barantini and filmed in single-take episodes, follows the fallout after a 13-year-old boy is accused of murdering a classmate, a storyline that helped spark debate on online safety when it premiered in March. Lead actor Stephen Graham earned a nomination for portraying the boy’s father, while 15-year-old Owen Cooper became the youngest nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters and Christine Tremarco also secured acting nods, rounding out a total that places “Adolescence” among Netflix’s most decorated titles this year. The show is already the streamer’s second most-viewed English-language series, and its nominations contribute to Netflix’s overall haul of 120 across 44 programs.
