Bowen Yang has secured his fourth Emmy nomination for his work on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” becoming the most-nominated Asian male performer in the television academy’s history. The latest nod, announced Tuesday, places Yang in the running for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series against Ike Barinholtz, Colman Domingo, Harrison Ford, Jeff Hiller, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Michael Urie. Yang, who joined “SNL” as a writer in 2018 and became its first Asian cast member a year later, previously made history in 2021 as the show’s first featured player to receive an acting nomination. While he now leads Asian male performers in acting nods, actress Sandra Oh remains the overall record-holder among Asian nominees with 14.
