The Television Academy on Tuesday released the nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, naming Jean Smart ("Hacks"), Kristen Bell ("Nobody Wants This"), Ayo Edebiri ("The Bear"), Quinta Brunson ("Abbott Elementary") and Uzo Aduba ("The Residence") as the contenders for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. The full slate of categories was announced in Los Angeles, marking the official start of the 2025 Emmy race. Final-round voting runs 18–27 August, culminating in the televised ceremony on 14 September at the Peacock Theater. CBS will broadcast the show, with comedian Nate Bargatze set to host.
