The Television Academy opened the 2025 Emmy nominations Tuesday by revealing contenders in two early-morning categories. In Outstanding Talk Series, the field was pared to three shows: last year’s winner The Daily Show, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The category had four nominees in 2024 and five the year before. Additional nominations—including the high-profile drama, comedy and limited-series races—will be announced later in the day from the TV Academy’s Saban Media Center in Los Angeles. The 77th Emmy Awards, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ from the Peacock Theater on Sept. 14, 2025.
