Latvia said it will transfer 42 Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, together with spare parts, ammunition and other weapons, to bolster Kyiv’s defense against Russia. Defense Minister Andris Spruds announced the package on 1 July, adding that the vehicles will be dispatched “soon.” Riga also pledged to devote 0.25% of its gross domestic product to supporting Ukraine in 2025, underscoring the Baltic nation’s role as one of Kyiv’s most outspoken backers within NATO and the European Union.
