“Bungie using the Destiny 1 music for The Edge of Fate menu is recycling.” As negative poster in chief just calm down
Bungie on 15 July 2025 released “The Edge of Fate,” the latest expansion for Destiny 2 and the first instalment in the game’s new Fate Saga. The downloadable content is available on PC and current PlayStation and Xbox consoles, with publishers advising players to expect a sizeable install. The update introduces the planetoid Kepler as a new explorable zone, a streamlined five-tier gear system and a fresh campaign that sets Guardians against the enigmatic Nine. Bungie has also reinstated the original 2014 Destiny main-menu score, a nod meant to appeal to long-time players. Edge of Fate marks a structural shift for the live-service shooter: instead of one large yearly expansion and four seasonal drops, Bungie will now deliver two medium-scale expansions annually, supplemented by smaller “Major Updates.” The studio says the approach is aimed at providing a more curated, accessible experience after completing the decade-long Light and Darkness storyline with last year’s Final Shape.
