Square Enix has released its tactical role-playing game “Triangle Strategy” on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Microsoft Store with a 30% introductory discount, pricing the title at US$41.99. The game, previously available only on Nintendo Switch and PC, arrives on the additional platforms without prior notice, expanding the publisher’s HD-2D catalogue beyond Nintendo hardware. Separately, Ubisoft and co-developer Evil Empire have rolled out “The Rogue Prince of Persia” on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, while adding the roguelite adventure to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Versions for Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Switch 2 are scheduled for later in 2025. Both surprise launches were timed to coincide with Microsoft’s Gamescom 2025 broadcast, underscoring the growing use of shadow drops and subscription services to drive attention for mid-sized releases.
