Samsung Electronics has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on 9 July in Brooklyn, New York, under the tagline “Ultra Unfolds.” The company says the showcase will focus on its newest foldable smartphones and wearables. Industry and regulatory filings indicate the line-up will include the book-style Galaxy Z Fold 7, the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 7 and a lower-priced Flip 7 FE, alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Samsung opened reservations this week, offering a US$50 credit in the United States, a C$100 voucher in Canada and benefits worth up to ₹5,999 in India. Pre-orders are expected to begin on the day of the event, with retail availability widely tipped for 25 July. Successive leaks—including accessory renders, hands-on photos and an Amazon screen-protector video—show the Fold 7 with a thinner chassis, a larger 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch internal screen driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. A European EPREL label lists a 4,400 mAh battery, awards the handset an “A” rating for drop resistance and a “C” for repairability. Developers examining a One UI 8 beta build discovered animations of a three-panel “Multifold 7” device, fuelling speculation that Samsung will tease its first tri-fold phone—internally referred to as the Galaxy G Fold—next week. Korean supply-chain leaks put the prospective model’s price near US$3,000 and suggest an initial production run of about 200,000 units. Samsung’s push comes as competition in foldables intensifies: China’s Honor just unveiled the 8.8-mm-thick Magic V5, while London-based Nothing launched its flagship Phone 3.
