Google has globally expanded access to its Veo 3 AI video generation model through the Gemini app, now available to AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in more than 159 countries, including India, France, and the Netherlands. Launched at Google I/O 2025, Veo 3 enables users to create realistic eight-second videos with sound, capped at three videos per day for Pro subscribers. Since its debut in May, over 40 million videos have been generated using Veo 3 across the Gemini app and Flow, Google's AI tool for filmmakers. Recently, Google introduced a new photo-to-video generation feature within the Gemini app, allowing paid users to convert still images into short video clips with ambient sound and dialogue. This feature is accessible to both Ultra and Pro subscribers. Additionally, Google has made Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast models available on its Vertex AI platform, catering to professional demands with faster HD video creation and upcoming image-to-video capabilities. Complementing these developments, Google has integrated AI-powered video tools into YouTube Shorts and Google Photos, utilizing the Veo 2 model to transform photos into videos and apply various generative effects such as anime and sketches. These enhancements aim to boost creativity on Google's platforms, with Veo 3's advanced capabilities expected to be introduced to YouTube Shorts later in the summer of 2025.
