A group of masked burglars made off with the entire stock of Labubu collectible dolls at the One Stop Shop toy store in La Puente, about 18 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department estimates the haul at roughly $7,000 and believes the suspects fled in a Toyota Tacoma that had been reported stolen earlier that night. The pickup was later recovered, but no arrests have been announced. Surveillance video released by the retailer shows several individuals in hooded sweatshirts methodically clearing shelves and carrying boxes of merchandise out of the shop. Store co-owners said the break-in left the premises ransacked and urged the public to help identify the thieves. Labubu dolls—toothy, rabbit-eared characters created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung and marketed by Chinese toymaker Pop Mart—have become a sought-after blind-box collectible, often reselling online for several times their $28 list price. The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the burglary.
