San Antonio police have opened a "high-profile" homicide investigation after a 79-year-old man was found fatally stabbed in his garage Tuesday morning inside an upscale gated community in the Stone Oak area on the city’s far North Side. A housekeeper discovered the victim, called 911 and reported “blood all around,” according to Police Chief William McManus. Investigators believe the attacker, a man in his 40s who is related to the victim and is not a Texas resident, stabbed the older man after a family dispute and fled the scene. The suspect was tracked roughly 120 miles northwest and taken into custody in Kimble County later in the morning. Authorities said there is no continuing threat to the public; the Bexar County Medical Examiner will release the victim’s name after formal identification.
