An 18-year-old man named Haven Alexander McBride was fatally shot in an incident involving his stepfather at their home on Kessler Peak Drive in Riverton, Utah. The shooting occurred around 3 PM on June 17, 2025, when the stepfather was handling a Glock handgun that discharged, striking McBride. Initially, police described the shooting as accidental. However, after reviewing footage from the home, authorities reconsidered the circumstances and subsequently arrested the 46-year-old stepfather on June 18, charging him with second-degree felony manslaughter.
