Union Minister Kiren Rijiju concluded a four-day visit to Himachal Pradesh's border areas, including Kinnaur, Lahaul, and Spiti, where he launched various development projects aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to enhance infrastructure and welfare in mountain regions. Rijiju received warm welcomes in Shimla and Keylong and highlighted schemes introduced for tribals, minorities, and youth. Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Jammu and Kashmir for two days, where he co-chaired a high-level review meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on agriculture and rural development progress. Chouhan announced the Centre's approval of over ₹4,200 crore for the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in J&K and plans to establish a ₹150 crore Clean Plant Centre in Srinagar under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). He also distributed water at Lal Chowk on Muharram, emphasizing the cultural significance of the gesture. Additionally, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh mentioned a ₹100 crore proposal for an Integrated Aqua Park in Jammu and Kashmir under PMMSY Phase-II. The visits underscore the central government's focus on regional development and addressing local challenges in these northern states.
