Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami convened a high-level meeting in Haridwar on Thursday to review security, crowd-management and logistics for the Kanwar Yatra 2025. The Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officials joined the session at the city’s Control Room to assess preparations for the annual pilgrimage, which draws millions of Shiva devotees to collect holy water from the Ganges. Dhami said the administration is coordinating across departments to ensure adequate safety measures, medical facilities, traffic control and accommodation for pilgrims. The state is also tracking arrangements for the concurrent Amarnath Yatra, he added, emphasising that lessons from past editions are being incorporated to improve emergency response and crowd flow.
