President Sheinbaum Inaugurates $350 Million, 437.2 MW Villa de Reyes Plant in San Luis Potosí, Plans 60 Plants to Generate 26,000 MW for CFE

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum inaugurated the Villa de Reyes Combined Cycle Power Plant in San Luis Potosí, a project with a capacity of 437.2 megawatts and an investment of $350 million. Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) in the country's energy development and announced plans to construct approximately 60 combined cycle power plants during her six-year term. These plants aim to generate a total of 26,000 megawatts, reinforcing the public character of the CFE and supporting its workforce to prevent privatization. The Villa de Reyes plant incorporates sustainable technology and represents a key step in the expansion of Mexico's energy infrastructure.
