Tim Burton recently held a master class at the Panteón Civil de Dolores in Mexico City, expressing that Mexican art and creativity have been a source of inspiration for him. This event preceded the launch of "Tim Burton: El Laberinto," an immersive and analog exhibition that opened in Mexico City, specifically at the Lienzo Charro de Constituyentes and later noted at the Tercera Sección del Bosque de Chapultepec. The exhibition offers visitors a 60-minute interactive journey through Burton's creative universe, featuring 71 sculptures, 155 original pieces, and animations across 15 themed rooms. The exhibit showcases over 200 sketches, sculptures, visual arts, and scenography related to his iconic gothic and fantastical films, including characters like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands. The immersive experience has been described as a fan house created by Burton himself, providing insight into the origins of his artistic soul. The exhibition has attracted large audiences, with attendees navigating through atmospheric spaces that reflect the director's dark and magical style. The event highlights Burton’s long career spanning more than 40 years and his multifaceted talents as a filmmaker, illustrator, photographer, and world-builder.
