Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dictating Washington’s position in ongoing negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear programme. In a series of remarks posted late Sunday, Araghchi said Netanyahu was “publicly directing the United States on what to say and do,” characterising the Israeli leader’s approach as both obstructionist and ineffective. Araghchi asserted that Netanyahu’s efforts to dismantle what he called four decades of Iran’s peaceful nuclear achievements had failed. He added that the Israeli premier’s 2023 pledge to achieve a decisive victory in Gaza had devolved into a military stalemate and, according to the minister, contributed to a surge of 200,000 new Hamas recruits. The comments underscore heightened tensions as talks on reviving nuclear diplomacy remain stalled. Israeli and U.S. officials have not yet responded publicly to Araghchi’s claims.
