Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Iran is unlikely to restart its nuclear program after last month’s joint U.S.–Israeli strikes, declaring that Tehran is "afraid" and has experienced "the might of America and Israel." In an interview on Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria,” he argued that the strikes had a deterrent effect felt "across the Middle East and around the world." Netanyahu reiterated the message during a meeting in Jerusalem with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, describing the U.S.–Israel partnership as "the roar of two lions." He said the allies remain prepared to act again if Iran resumes atomic work, and asserted that Israeli intelligence believes any enriched uranium that was moved before the strikes is now buried underground and insufficient for weaponisation. The prime minister’s remarks contrast with warnings from some security analysts that Tehran still seeks nuclear capabilities. Neither Netanyahu nor Hegseth disclosed additional evidence, but both emphasized the importance of continued monitoring and the possibility of further action should Iran attempt to rebuild its program.
