BREAKING: Yemen's Houthis launch ballistic missile towards Israel
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported multiple missile and drone attacks launched from Yemen targeting Israeli territory. On August 1, 2025, a ballistic missile fired by the Iran-backed Houthi group triggered sirens across central Israel, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Israeli air defenses successfully intercepted the missile, and no casualties were reported. The missile launch also caused disruptions to air travel and prompted the closure of Israeli airspace. In subsequent days, the IDF intercepted another missile fired from southern Gaza and detected a drone launched from Yemen, which was also successfully intercepted without causing injuries. The Israeli Home Front Command issued warnings and activated sirens in affected areas, including the Gaza envelope town of Bnei Netzarim, in response to these threats. The IDF continues to monitor the situation closely and urges the public to follow safety guidelines.
