Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Thursday that the country would mount additional strikes inside Iran if it perceives any new threat from Tehran. Speaking at an Israeli Air Force graduation ceremony on 10 July, Katz said Israel’s “long arm” could reach targets in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan and vowed that "there is no place where you can hide." The warning follows a series of escalatory statements and actions. On 17 June, hours after a ballistic missile fired from Iran landed in central Israel, Katz told reporters that the Israeli Air Force would hit “very significant, strategic targets” belonging to the Iranian regime and its infrastructure in Tehran later that day. Six days later, on 23 June, his office said the military was conducting “unprecedented” strikes on government facilities and security institutions in the Iranian capital, promising to release images of the damage. Katz’s latest remarks underscore Israel’s intent to deter further attacks by signalling that any renewed Iranian aggression will be met with heavier force. Iranian officials have not publicly responded to the 10 July statement, but former Revolutionary Guard commander Mohsen Rezaei recently said Tehran would determine the timing of any next confrontation with Israel.
