Alcon Entertainment said it is developing a sequel to last year’s "The Garfield Movie," with Chris Pratt returning to voice the lasagna-loving cat and taking a producer credit. The 2024 film, released by Sony Pictures outside China, earned more than $260 million worldwide, prompting the studio to green-light a follow-up. Alcon co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will again produce alongside John Cohen and Steven P. Wegner, while Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios joins as co-producer. DNEG Animation, which handled the first picture, will return, and Garfield creator Jim Davis will serve as an executive producer. Writers and a director have not yet been set, and a release date was not announced.
