Iran and the US haven’t agreed on a time, date or place to resume stalled negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday https://t.co/ojlNGUv0lh
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on 6 July that no date has been set for the next round of negotiations with the United States, adding that Washington opted to postpone what would have been the third session of the bilateral dialogue. On 14 July, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei likewise reported that Tehran and Washington have agreed on neither a time nor a venue to resume talks aimed at reviving Iran’s nuclear accord. A sixth round, arranged through an Omani mediator for 15 June, was canceled after Israel’s 13 June strikes on Iranian targets triggered a 12-day conflict that included U.S. airstrikes on the Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear sites on 22 June. The separate statements leave two critical diplomatic tracks—with Moscow on strategic issues and with Tehran on the nuclear file—without timetables for resumption, underscoring a broader freeze in U.S. engagement with both countries.
