Amazon announced it will shut down its Freevee streaming app in August 2025. Freevee, a free ad-supported video-on-demand service owned by Amazon, will cease to operate as a standalone platform. However, the content available on Freevee, including free shows, movies, and live channels, will be integrated into Amazon's main Prime Video platform. This move consolidates Amazon's streaming offerings under Prime Video, allowing users to continue accessing Freevee's content without a Prime subscription. Freevee originally launched in 2019 as IMDb Freedive and was later rebranded IMDb TV before becoming Freevee. Popular series such as "Bosch: Legacy" will be available on Prime Video after the Freevee app is discontinued.
