OnePlus has unveiled new artificial intelligence (AI) features and hardware changes, beginning with the OnePlus 13s smartphone, which is set to launch in August 2025. The company is discontinuing its longstanding Alert Slider and introducing a customizable 'Plus Key,' a dedicated button that activates AI-powered functions, including the AI Plus Mind feature. AI Plus Mind enables users to capture, organize, and search on-screen information—such as schedules and reservations—by pressing the Plus Key or using gestures. The feature is powered by Google Gemini and saves on-screen data exclusively on the device. Additional AI capabilities include VoiceScribe for summarizing calls and a unified translation app supporting live, camera, and screen translations, all integrated into OxygenOS. OnePlus highlights privacy measures, with sensitive data processed in the cloud but stored only on the device, and plans to shift more processing on-device as hardware advances. The Plus Key and new AI features will debut on the OnePlus 13s and expand to future models. Meanwhile, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing and co-founder of OnePlus, has outlined a vision for smartphones where the operating system, powered by AI, replaces all individual apps. Pei predicts that within seven to ten years, smartphones could have a single, highly personalized OS app that anticipates and fulfills user needs. Separately, Google is preparing to launch its Pixel 10 series in August 2025, with models including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and a foldable variant. The Pixel 10 series is expected to feature the Tensor G5 chipset, up to 16GB RAM, enhanced AI integration, and new color options such as Obsidian, blue, Iris (purple), and Limoncello (yellow). The base Pixel 10 may include a telephoto lens for the first time, with prices starting at Rs 83,999.
