Amazon’s flagship superhero satire “The Boys” has finished shooting its fifth and final season, creator-showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed after the production wrapped in early July. Principal photography began in November 2024 and closed this week, ending an eight-month schedule split between Toronto soundstages and on-location work in Ontario. Cast members marked the milestone with emotional farewells. Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight, said she “said goodbye to most of my work family” after filming her last scene on 3 July, while co-star Jack Quaid told The Hollywood Reporter he is “really proud” of what Kripke has crafted, calling it “a great finale, which is a hard thing to do in TV.” Season 5 is slated to stream worldwide on Prime Video in summer 2026, closing the story that began in 2019. The new episodes pick up after Season 4’s cliff-hanger and will see the return of Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Quaid and Moriarty, with “Supernatural” alumni Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins joining the ensemble in undisclosed roles. Kripke said completing the series in five seasons allows him to deliver the ending he initially envisioned. While “The Boys” is ending, Prime Video is continuing to expand the franchise through spin-offs such as “Gen V,” the in-development prequel “Vought Rising” and the planned “The Boys: Mexico.”
