Harrison Ford secured the first Primetime Emmy nomination of his five-decade career, earning a nod for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his performance in Apple TV+’s “Shrinking.” The announcement was part of the 77th Emmy Awards nominations unveiled on 15 July. At 83, Ford becomes the second-oldest performer ever nominated in the category, trailing only Alan Arkin, who was 86 when cited for “The Kominsky Method” in 2020. Ford portrays Dr. Paul Rhoades, a blunt therapist coping with Parkinson’s disease, in the comedy created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein and Jason Segel. The veteran actor’s nomination adds a television milestone to a résumé long defined by film roles such as Indiana Jones and Han Solo. The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled for 14 September and will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
