Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Ukrainian intelligence shows President Vladimir Putin has “no plans” to halt the conflict and that Kyiv sees “no signals” from Moscow indicating a willingness to cease hostilities. Speaking in Kyiv ahead of Friday’s meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Putin at a U.S. air base in Alaska, Zelenskiy reiterated that Ukraine will not cede the eastern Donbas region, which the Kremlin wants as part of any truce. “The Donbas question cannot be separated from security guarantees,” he told reporters. Zelenskiy said he is counting on Washington’s leverage to pressure Moscow, adding, “We count on a strong American position.” He pressed for Ukraine—and European partners—to be included in any negotiations that emerge from the Trump-Putin talks, warning that territorial issues must not be decided without Kyiv’s participation. The Ukrainian leader also warned of a potential new Russian offensive, saying roughly 30,000 additional troops are being shifted toward the southern Zaporizhzhia and eastern Donetsk fronts. He urged allies to maintain military and financial support, arguing that Moscow is trying to create the impression that “Russia advances and Ukraine loses” ahead of the Alaska summit.

Meeting with Putin like this is actually a genius move. When Zelensky refuses the peace deal it makes it easy for Trump to pull support for Ukraine and tell Europe it's their problem now. The US will be happy to sell them weapons. Then the Iran conflict escalates. https://t.co/i805kly7pc
