Senate Republicans’ main outside spending vehicles, the Senate Leadership Fund and its nonprofit partner One Nation, collected a record-breaking US$85 million in the first half of 2025, more than doubling their previous off-year haul, according to figures shared with Axios. The two groups now hold roughly US$83 million in cash as they prepare early advertising blitzes in Georgia, North Carolina, Maine, Alaska and Nebraska. Executive Director Alex Latcham said the surge reflects an aggressive donor-outreach effort by new Senate GOP leader John Thune and more frequent coordination with President Donald Trump on candidate recruitment. The war chest is intended to protect the party’s narrow Senate majority and expand the 2026 electoral map, with some ad buys already under way well ahead of the traditional post-Labor Day window. Strong receipts are also showing up in individual House campaigns. Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents a district Vice President Kamala Harris carried in 2024, raised US$1.3 million in the first quarter and ended March with US$6.5 million on hand. California Rep. Ken Calvert reported a similar US$1.3 million quarter and has US$2.5 million banked as he braces for another closely watched contest. At the state level, a committee backing Florida State Sen. Joe Gruters’ 2026 bid for chief financial officer pulled in US$112,500 in late June and finished the quarter with about US$577,000. In Manatee County, Bradenton Republican Kristen Truong amassed more than US$40,000 within two months of launching her campaign for House District 71, outpacing her primary rival Melton Little, who reported US$30,000 including a US$10,000 loan. The across-the-board cash influx underscores Republicans’ early financial edge heading into the next election cycle.
