LEGO Group and Nintendo have unveiled a brick-built replica of the original 1989 Game Boy, expanding their line-up of nostalgia-driven collaborations that already includes LEGO versions of the NES and SNES consoles. The 421-piece set is a near life-sized model complete with working buttons, volume and contrast dials, a functional-looking cartridge slot and three lenticular screens that mimic gameplay. Although the console is not playable, the package adds two brick Game Paks based on The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land for display purposes. Pre-orders opened on 24 July across Lego.com, Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers at US$59.99, €59.99 or £54.99. LEGO says the model offers “a nostalgic throwback to the classic system” and will ship to consumers on 1 October 2025. Early demand quickly exhausted allocations on Lego’s own store, underscoring continued appetite for collectible sets that blend retro gaming culture with the company’s adult-focused building kits.
