Google has expanded the availability and capabilities of its Veo 3 AI video generation model across multiple platforms and regions. Initially launched in May 2025 at Google I/O for AI Ultra subscribers at $249.99 per month, Veo 3 is now accessible to AI Pro subscribers in over 159 countries, including India, France, and the Netherlands, with a daily limit of three videos. The model enables users to create realistic eight-second videos with sound and dialog. Since its launch, over 40 million videos have been generated using Veo 3 through the Gemini app and Flow, Google's AI tool for filmmakers. Recently, Google introduced a photo-to-video feature within the Gemini app, allowing paid Ultra and Pro subscribers to convert still images into short video clips with ambient sound. This feature is rolling out gradually and is also integrated into Google’s Vertex AI platform, where Veo 3 and a faster variant, Veo 3 Fast, are now generally available. Additionally, Google has incorporated AI-powered video generation tools based on the Veo 2 model into YouTube Shorts and Google Photos, enabling users to transform photos into videos and apply various generative effects such as anime and sketches. These enhancements aim to broaden creative possibilities for users across Google’s ecosystem.
