Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, head of Turkey's Defence Industries Secretariat, conducted official visits to Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in early July 2025 to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation. In Bangladesh, Görgün met with interim leader Prof. Muhammad Yunus, as well as the chiefs of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force, including Air Marshal Hasan Mahmud. Discussions focused on enhancing military cooperation, technology exchange, and reviewing the use of Turkish indigenous defense systems such as the TB2 drones, with user feedback gathered during visits to operational sites. The talks emphasized strategic partnership and joint development potential in the defense sector. Subsequently, in Saudi Arabia, Görgün held meetings with Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Ohali, President of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), and Dr. Khaled Bin Hussein Al Biyari, Deputy Minister of Defense. These engagements centered on exploring strategic cooperation, technology transfer, and joint production models to advance defense industry collaboration between Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Görgün participated in a strategic discussion on future warfare technologies, NATO's interest in Turkey, and the institutional transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises within the Turkish defense industry.
