Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav opened a four-day official visit to Spain on Wednesday with meetings at LaLiga’s Madrid headquarters aimed at forging a partnership to strengthen football and youth development in the central Indian state. Yadav and senior LaLiga executives discussed grassroots training, coaching exchanges and facilities that could help Madhya Pradesh set up academies and send local coaches for advanced instruction in Spain. The chief minister later addressed an “Invest in Madhya Pradesh” business forum, pitching the state’s road, rail and air networks as well as its medical-college expansion to Spanish companies. He also held separate talks with India’s ambassador to Spain and with Emilio Contreras Benítez, the Spanish foreign ministry’s deputy director general for Southern Asia, to explore opportunities in renewable energy and other sectors. Yadav described Spain and India as “twin brothers” culturally and said the visit would position Madhya Pradesh as a hub for sports collaboration and foreign investment. The trip follows a stop in the United Arab Emirates and forms part of the state government’s broader push to attract international partners across infrastructure, health and sport.
