Two separate cases involving female teachers accused of sexual misconduct with 16-year-old male students have emerged in 2025. In Michigan, Jocelyn Sanroman, a 26-year-old prep school teacher at Oakside Prep Academy, has been charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student in 2023. Prosecutors reported that Sanroman admitted the affair to a co-worker. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, a 40-year-old female teacher from a prominent school was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male student over the course of nearly a year starting January 2024. Authorities revealed that the teacher gave the student anti-anxiety medication and alcohol, took him to five-star hotels, and coerced him into the sexual relationship. The Mumbai case also involved an accomplice who encouraged the student. Police have registered cases and taken both accused teachers into custody, with psychiatric evaluation planned in the Mumbai case.
