On the first anniversary of the death of Muhammad Deif, the senior commander of Hamas's Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, various media outlets and Hamas supporters commemorated his legacy. Deif, also known as Abu Khaled, was killed in an Israeli airstrike a year ago. He led the brigades' military operations for 22 years and was known for living a life of concealment to evade Israeli forces for three decades. Despite this, he maintained roles as a husband, father, and leader. Abu Ubaida, another senior Hamas figure, described Deif as a martyr who led a powerful campaign against Israel, notably the Al-Aqsa flood, delivering one of the harshest blows in Israel's history. Deif's legacy continues to inspire generations and is remembered as a figure who shattered Israel's deterrence, with his influence still felt in the ongoing conflict.
