Israel’s military and domestic security service said they have killed two Hamas members accused of involvement in the 24 June attack that left seven Israeli soldiers dead in Khan Yunis. In a joint statement released 2 July, the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet identified the militants as Musab Yaser Abdallah Jilban and Abd al-Latif Musa Hajjaj Barbah. According to the statement, Israeli Air Force aircraft directed by the security agency and elements of the 188th Brigade struck the pair in the Khan Yunis area late last week. The soldiers killed in the earlier ambush all served in the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion of that brigade, the IDF added.
