Israeli authorities, including the police and the internal security agency Shin Bet, have arrested multiple individuals on suspicion of espionage for Iran. Among those detained is a couple in their 30s from Ra’anana, central Israel, who were apprehended after a search of their home yielded phones, computers, and messages believed to be communications with an Iranian handler. Additionally, a teacher from the Bedouin community in the Negev region was arrested in June and subsequently charged with spying for Iran, accused of carrying out tasks such as transferring phones and money via intermediaries and installing cameras near military bases. Furthermore, an active-duty Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier was charged with spying for Iran in exchange for financial compensation. The soldier allegedly transmitted videos and photos of missile impact sites in Israel to Iranian agents. These arrests follow previous detentions of other Israelis suspected of collaborating with Iranian intelligence. In response to these espionage concerns, Israel launched a national media campaign titled "Easy Money, Heavy Cost," warning citizens against spying for Iran and highlighting the severe legal consequences, including prison sentences of up to 15 years. The campaign aims to deter recruitment efforts by Iranian intelligence amid ongoing tensions and recent conflict between the two countries.
