Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris suffered a serious head and neck injury during a preseason NFL game against the Atlanta Falcons on August 8, 2025. The injury occurred with approximately 14 minutes and 50 seconds remaining in the game while Norris was attempting to tackle Falcons player Nathan Carter. After the collision, Norris lost consciousness, exhibited a fencing response, and experienced a seizure. He was attended to on the field for about 20 minutes before being transported by ambulance to a hospital. The Lions-Falcons game was suspended and ultimately ended early following the incident. The Detroit Lions later provided a positive update, confirming Norris was in stable condition, able to move all extremities, and not paralyzed. Norris himself shared on social media that he was "all good" and expressed gratitude for the support. Two days after the injury, Norris returned to the Lions' headquarters and training facility and entered concussion protocol, with plans for a gradual return to play.
