Google has expanded its limited watchOS lineup by releasing a native Google Calendar application for the Apple Watch. Rolled out on June 30 as part of version 25.24.1 of the iPhone app, the software offers a simplified seven-day list of events and Google Tasks, plus two watch-face complications that show the next appointment or the current date. Users cannot create or edit events from the wrist, mirroring the pared-down feature set of Calendar on Google’s own Wear OS devices. At the same time, Google removed its Google Keep note-taking app from Apple’s smartwatch platform. Version 2.2025.26200 of Keep, issued July 1, eliminates watchOS support while leaving iPhone, iPad and Wear OS functionality intact. Introduced to the Apple Watch in 2019 and seldom updated, Keep’s withdrawal leaves Google Maps, YouTube Music and the new Calendar as the company’s only remaining watchOS titles. The simultaneous debut and discontinuation highlight Google’s uneven commitment to Apple’s wearable ecosystem just months before Apple adds a native Notes app in watchOS 26. For Apple Watch owners who rely on Google services, Calendar’s arrival fills a long-standing gap, but the loss of Keep reopens another.
