Google has expanded the availability and capabilities of its AI-powered video generation model, Veo 3, across its Gemini app and Vertex AI platform. Initially launched in May 2025 and accessible to AI Ultra subscribers at $249.99 per month, Veo 3 allows users to create realistic eight-second videos with sound. As of July 2025, the model is available to Gemini Pro subscribers in over 159 countries, including India, France, and the Netherlands, with a daily limit of three videos. Since its launch, users have generated over 40 million videos using Veo 3 through the Gemini app and Flow, Google's AI tool for filmmakers. In July, Google introduced a new photo-to-video generation feature within the Gemini app, enabling paid users to convert still images into eight-second video clips with ambient sound and dialogue. This feature is available to both Ultra and Pro subscribers. Additionally, Google has launched Veo 3 Fast, an upgraded, faster, and more cost-effective version of the model on the Vertex AI platform, priced at $0.40 per second of video with audio. Veo 3 Fast supports text-to-video and image-to-video generation with production-ready rate limits. Furthermore, Google has integrated AI-powered video tools based on the Veo 2 model into YouTube Shorts and Google Photos, allowing users to transform photos into short videos and apply various creative effects such as animations, sketches, and anime styles. These new generative AI features aim to enhance content creation across Google's platforms.
